Award Recipients from Sherburne County recognized at Minnesota’s 41st Annual Prevention Program Shar


Deputy Roxanne Schreder with the Sherburne County Sheriff’s Office and Mark Kolbinger, Assistant Principal at Becker High School were recognized for their work in prevention at the 41st Annual Prevention Program Sharing Conference in St. Cloud.

Schreder was awarded the Outstanding Dedication to Prevention award for the state of Minnesota. This award was designated for an individual who has dedicated a large part of his or her career to supporting Alcohol, Tobacco and Other Drug prevention. In her roles as Program Director of the Substance Use Prevention (SUP) Coalition and Crime Prevention Specialist at the Sheriff’s Office, Schreder has created awareness, educated the community and assisted with policy and community norm changes. Coalition Coordinator Alicia Klepsa states, “Roxanne truly cares about the health and well-being of residents in Sherburne County, especially youth. She is persistent in her efforts to help others in any way she can. This award could not have gone to a more deserving person.”

Mark Kolbinger was awarded the Community Champion award for East Central Minnesota. This award was given to an individual in the community who volunteers their time (unpaid) to create awareness around substance use prevention. Kolbinger has been the Chair of the SUP Coalition since its inception in 2012. His outstanding leadership skills and passion to help others is evident in the work he has done for the coalition as well as the success of his students. Sherburne County Sheriff Joel Brott states, “Mark has developed strong relationships with all SUP Coalition members. In addition, he has gained the trust of citizens who live and work within Sherburne County and is well known throughout the community as a true professional and a great contributor to the community.”
