OUR MISSION

OUR MISSION

The Sherburne SUP Coalition exists to prevent substance use among our youth by promoting safe and healthy choices among all community members.

We will work to educate our entire community on the effects of substance use on individuals and families as well as local businesses.

The coalition is comprised of county staff, school leaders, parents, students, law enforcement, media, healthcare, local businesses, and religious leaders who have come together for a common purpose.

Sectors Represented in Our Coalition

Our Main Focus

While the SUP Coalition is broadly focused on decreasing the overall use of alcohol, tobacco and other drugs in our community, we have chosen to address three substance concerns found through state and county data. These substances include:
Alcohol
Marijuana
Tobacco
Our Funding

In 2014, our coalition was awarded a Drug-Free Communities (DFC) grant from the Federal government.  This grant provided $125,000 per year for five years, and had the ability to be renewed for an additional five years.

In 2019, we reapplied for the DFC grant and received a second round of funding for another five years!

The Federal DFC Program provides funding and resources for community coalitions that organize to prevent youth substance use.  The program’s philosophy is that local drug problems require local solutions, and recent data shows that communities that have DFC-funded coalitions experience lower substance use in youth.

Annual Report

Every year the SUP Coalition will release an updated report to show our progress in creating lasting solutions to youth substance use.  It will include information about the coalition's growth and an overview of work completed during the last year.  Click the download report button below to view our latest annual report.
